South Dakota Workers’ Compensation Webinar

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) and South Dakota Retailers Association (SDRA) are providing a webinar Thursday, May 19, at 10 a.m. (CDT). This webinar will cover overall South Dakota workers’ compensation law.

“Educating the public about South Dakota laws is beneficial to employers,” said state Labor and Regulation Secretary Marcia Hultman.  “Workers’ compensation can be complicated. Through these webinars, we hope to better educate our employers and businesses.”

James Marsh, director of Labor and Management, will provide general information about South Dakota workers’ compensation laws and benefits. A question and answer session will also be available.

“Workers’ compensation laws are something every employer needs to stay on top of. Lack of coverage or not knowing the right steps to take if an employee is injured could end up injuring the business as well,” said SDRA executive director Shawn Lyons. “This webinar is a perfect opportunity for employers to get answers to their questions, whether they’re just starting out in business, or if they’ve been in business for decades.”
