Board Members

    PRESIDENT

    Susan Isaacson

    Position Summary:

    Provide leadership to the local chapter consistent with state, regional, and SHRM policy, strategies and objectives. Effectively operate the chapter so that the needs of the members are met. Perform other duties as required by the local chapter's bylaws. Serve as a voting member of the State Council.

     

    PAST PRESIDENT

    Janice Minder, SPHR

    Position Summary:

    Advise the President and other officers and members of the board of directors regarding past practices, general operations, and other matters to assist in the smooth operation of the Chapter.

     

    TREASURER

    Mike Gibson, SPHR

    Position Summary:

    Maintains the records, and directs the financial affairs of the council.

     

    SECRETARY

    Beth Urban

    Position Summary:

    Prepares the proceedings of all chapter meetings, takes minutes, and maintains the records.

     

    MEMBERSHIP & AT-LARGE DIRECTOR

    Peggy Laurenz, SPHR

    Position Summary:

    Manage the membership function to successfully achieve an increase in chapter membership.  Guide the activities of the following committees: volunteers, membership, membership directory, awards, and hospitality.

     

    SHRM FOUNDATION DIRECTOR

    Kayla Bastian

    Position Summary:

    Educate, promote, and represent the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to the chapter membership.

     

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHAIR

    Summer Sporrer

    Position Summary:

    Manage the activities of the professional development committee to provide seminars, workshops and other professional development opportunities for the chapter membership.

     

    CERTIFICATION CHAIR

    Deb Olson, PHR

    Position Summary:

    The fundamental purpose of this position is to promote certification activities for the chapter and its members. This position is responsible to participate discussions with members and other chapters on how to achieve certification credits, why certification exists and how HRCI plays a role in certification for SHRM.

     

    TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR

    Stef Kerr

    Position Summary:

    The fundamental purpose of this position is facilitate better communication throughout the volunteer leadership and members of Central SD SHRM. Serves as the Web Master for the chapter.
