State Launches New Job Search Site

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) has launched a new version of its jobs database and management information system, SDWORKS. The new system is a virtual one-stop to assist job seekers, employers and staff.

“We needed to upgrade our technology to offer users the best customer service experience,” said state Labor and Regulation Secretary Marcia Hultman. “The new SDWORKS provides greater access to job services and is much more intuitive.”

The updated system is built around a common language and real time data. Employers will post openings by the specific skills and competencies required for the job, instead of generic job titles and generic descriptions. Job seekers will have a tool to translate their resume into those same skills and competencies.

“This new system truly is state-of-the art,” said Secretary Hultman. “I’m excited about the job matching capabilities available to the public, along with the improved case management and reporting system to help our staff meet federal performance requirements.”

Account and log-in information will typically remain the same. To register or post a job to SDWORKS, visit sdjobs.org or a local job service office.
